Frequently Asked Questions: Program

The Program FAQs are featured on each program overview page of the microsite. Program FAQs are also located, or “live,” within the FAQ hub of the microsite, so they should include the program name or acronym in the question. These FAQs should provide additional information about the program, its curriculum, outcomes, and the overall experience students can expect. All program FAQs should align with the university brand guidelines.

Program FAQs may be required content for microsites following the traditional tUX microsite strategies. Not all questions featured in each category are required to be written. However, it is encouraged to create as many of the FAQs outlined in each category to help paint a larger picture for prospective students when researching what program and university may be the best fit for their academic goals and preferred student experience.

Certificates and Specializations

Certificates and specialization programs require a different set of questions. Please refer to their unique grouping of questions for reference.

Strategic Writing Direction

Please follow these core guidelines when writing answers to the program, specialization, and certificate FAQs.

Stick to the Program

Please keep in mind that this is program-level content. This means that the prospective student is in the mindset of researching a single program and is seeking answers relative to that program.

Use the Program Name or Acronym

SEO will determine whether the program name or acronym should be used in the FAQ question. Please refer to the SEO analyst for guidance if unsure on which version to use when framing the question.

Turn a Less Desirable Answer into a Positive

Help reframe the prospect’s mindset if the answer is not ideal. For example, if a program doesn’t offer scholarships, help guide the student to other options to help fund their degree.

Keep it Conversational

It is important to ensure our answers have a welcoming tone. Write how people talk. Keep in mind, conversational does not mean casual. Avoid informality and jargon.

Include Keywords

Always incorporate the provided SEO keywords into FAQs and align the phrasing of an FAQ to best suit the exact-match opportunities.

Add Interlinks Whenever Possible

When writing responses, include linked text to other relevant content when applicable to program-level pages. Interlinking can boost overall microsite engagement and performance (i.e., increase average visitor sessions, reduce bounce rate, increase keyword rankings, increase page visits, etc.).

This is required only if the strategy calls for unique programmatic pages. If we’re only using the FAQ Hub, this is not needed.

Questions should be answered with one or more complete sentences. Aim to be concise but conversational. Not all questions are applicable to all programs. Please use your judgment when writing the final copy. If you are confused, please reach out to the product marketing manager.
